The C2MC joint lab was initiated in 2014 through the initiative of three researchers from Total refining and chemical, the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour and the University of Rouen. In 2019 the group of Dr Ryan Rodgers from the NHMFL joined the C2MC that became iC2MC
